British Music Scene

I hate it when there are people out there that are ignorant when it comes to the British music scene and claim that we the Brits have no actual artists out there(okay I know I'm a Romanian born brit but I consider myself as being both Romanian and British) when we obviously have some amazing artists from here,actual artists who can sing not like many American acts that seem to come out of a pop star machine.I'm no expert in music but I can name a few artists from a through different genres of music in the last twenty years that have enlightened us(the brits) and the whole world with their great music.For pop girlband we had the Spice Girls,and still have Girls Aloud,for classic boy bands we have The Beatles,I mean who out there in their right mind does not know who The Beatles are and where they come from? We have Brit pop that includes Oasis,Pulp and Blur..even though the music movement fell apart. We have indie acts such as Belle and Sebastian,Arctic Monkeys,Bloc Party,Editors,The Fratellis,Placebo and The Kooks.We have a lot of great solo artists such as Lily Allen,Kate Nash,Amy McDonald,Amy Winehouse,Duffy,Ellie Goulding,Little Boots and La Roux,I can also predict Gabrielle Aplin being of these great artists(well she already is she's just not that out there yet).I'm not a big hip hop fan but hey even I know some of those,like Plan B who's my favourite as he has such a versatile style,also Devlin,Professor Green.Also don't we have the best virtual band who's also in the Guinness Book of World Records for selling over seven million copies of their first album in 2001?I was about to forget about dubstep and haha how could I?We have taadaaam:Chase and Status,Pinch,and some more that I can't think of,yeah I don't know many dubstep artists.Also I forgot about those classic rock bands such as:Queen,Judas Priest,Status Quo,Led Zeppelin and David Bowie(well he's not a band but he was around when the rest were around...).I can go on and on about all the amazing acts we have in the Uk but I'm not going to,people have to discover for themselfs the greatness of the British music scene but I can't help myself and I will mention another few acts I love:Muse,Laura Marling,Noah and the Whale,Mumford and Sons,Adele,Franz Ferdinand,Eliza Doolittle and James Blunt.
